Thirty years have come and gone. Since 1976 when
she was first launched, the Continental Sloop Providence has
voyaged tens of thousands of nautical miles ranging
from the East Coast, the Caribbean Islands, the Canadian Maritimes and the

Adria M. Lande joins the Continental Sloop Providence
as Education Director
In January, the PMHF welcomed
Adria M. Lande as
Education Director. Adria has worked with tall ships
Meerwald and Amistad and most recently was the Education Coordinator for the
American Sail Training Association. Fore & Aft had the pleasure of interviewing Adria last month to learn
more about sail training and education.

Sloop Providence announces its Great Lakes Adventure for the Summer of
Berths available for Cadets (ages 12-14) and Midshipmen (ages 15-17)
This summer the Continental
Sloop Providence will take part in American Sail Training
Association’s TALL SHIPS
CHALLENGE in the Great Lakes. Our Cadet and
Midshipmen Academy programs are
designed to foster personal growth and teamwork as youth work together towards
common goals.
Cadet
and Midshipmen Academy programs will be
offered for the following week-long
sessions:
Week 1: July 7-12, Buffalo, NY to
Cleveland, OH
Week
2: July 16-21, Cleveland, OH to Bay City,
MI
Week 3: July 23-28, Bay City, MI to Green Bay, WI
Week 4: July 30-Aug 4 Green Bay, WI to Chicago,
IL
Week 5: Aug 13-Aug 18, South Haven, MI to Port Huron,
MI
Week 6: This week is sold out: August 20-25, Port Huron to
Sandusky, OH
